There are moments when everything shifts — the world falls silent, and for a second, you stand at the center of your own story. It's the thrilling realization that you're driving your own narrative, not merely a passenger in someone else's. The world has a way of pushing you to blend in, to follow the script, but in this moment, you shed all of that. You embrace your true self, your unique voice, and take ownership of the path you are carving. It is the feeling of standing tall, unafraid to stand out, knowing that you're not just living your life. You are owning it. This is a Main Character Moment — when you step into your power, leave self-doubt behind, and fully embrace who you are. It was the summer of 2022 when I captured my first main character moment on film.

I spent that summer in London, and ended up at The Box one night. There was a drag queen in front of me, and I raised the camera and took the shot without thinking about it. No settings, no plan. It was the first photo I ever took on film.
A few days later I brought the roll into a Snappy Snaps. I stood at the counter while he pulled the prints, and when I finally saw it, I couldn't believe it. It was so much more beautiful than anything I'd pictured standing there in the dark — she was luminous, entirely herself, not living her life so much as owning it. I fell in love right there in the shop with film, and I've never put the camera down since.

Later that same summer I went to a small island off the coast of Maine with a small town vibe where everyone is a character in and of themselves. I kept shooting. Casually, constantly, mostly my friends, mostly at nothing in particular. When I got the rolls back, I laid them out on the floor and just stared at them. Look at all of these characters. These Maine characters.

I said it out loud and laughed — what a fun play on words. Then I opened Instagram, typed in @maincharactermoments…it was available.

I stared at the screen. Somehow, after all the years of people describing their lives that way, nobody had taken it. It stopped being a joke about half a second later, and started being something I just had to do.

I started posting that week.

These days I shoot fashion and lifestyle event photography, and it turns out to be the same job I've been doing since that first night in London: find the person who is fully inside their own moment, and don't interrupt it.

What started as a passion project has grown into something bigger — dedicated to elevating creatives and celebrating contemporary culture through visual storytelling and curated features. It shares the narratives of people who are rewriting the rules: the ones bold enough to live with intention, style, and originality. In a world that too often celebrates conformity, this is for everyone who colors outside the lines.
